About Us
Art Kaufman
Mr. Kaufman has a Masters Degree in Education from the University of
New Hampshire and is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor; Certified
Disability Management Specialist, and a Diplomate in the American Board
of Vocational Experts.
He is a Charter member of the National Association of Disability Representatives
(NADR) and served as its elected President from 2002 to 2004. He
continues to serve as a co-chair of the Legislative Affairs Committee.
In 2003 he offered testimony before the
Subcommittee on Social Security of the House Committee on Ways and
Means Committee on behalf of NADR and non-attorney representatives.
He has been providing disability assistance along the continuum of
disability assistance since 1973. This continuum includes being an
Employment Network in the Social Security Administration's Ticket to Work
Program as well as professional representation before the Social
Security Administration of impaired persons who are unable to sustain
substantial gainful activity.
Outside of the Social Security realm Mr. Kaufman provides expert
vocational testimony in legal matters including loss of earnings
evaluations and assessments, labor market surveys, and legal testimony.
Other work related services include vocational counseling;
employability assessments; transferable skills assessments; and job
placement services to individuals with physical and mental impairments.
In addition to the testimony before the Subcommittee on Social Security
he has also provided vocational expert testimony in various venues
including Federal District Court, various NH County Superior Courts;
the SSA; NH Department of Health and Human Services; Veterans
Administration; and Workers' Compensation boards in NH and MA.
Since 1985 he has been the owner of Insuring Assistance, Inc., now
Accu-Pro Disability Advocates, and specializes in the provision of
representation services to persons throughout the northeastern United
States seeking disability benefits from the Social Security
Administration.
Nancy Kaufman
Ms. Kaufman has a Masters Degree in Counseling and Community Psychology
from New Hampshire College and a Bachelor of Science degree from New
England College. She is currently Treasurer of the National Association of
Disability Representatives (NADR) and a member of both the
Legislative Affairs and the 2004 and 2006 National Conference
Committees.
Since 1988 she has been providing impaired persons disability
assistance in Social Security as a non-attorney representative as well
as job placement and counseling in her role as a Vocational
Rehabilitation Counselor and Disability Consultant.
Prior to entering the field of vocational rehabilitation she was a
member of the management team of the Visiting Nurse Association of
Nashua. She directed the Respite care program for persons with
Alzheimer's disease and the agency's Companion Care program. At
New Hampshire College she functioned as a Program Assistant for the
School of Human Services for approximately four years while obtaining
her degree. She also taught an Introduction to Psychology class at
Franklin Pierce College. She also functioned as Volunteer Coordinator
for the Easter Seal Society in Manchester and has more than ten years
of work experience in the field of Banking including assistant manager
of Mortgage Servicing.
Volunteer activities over the years have included PTG President,
Library Aide, March of Dimes, American Cancer Society, Nashua Youth
Council Board of Directors, Alumni Board of New England College and
local community based fund raising events affiliated with the Lions
Club and Hillsborough Pride.
